• The Thomas More Law Center (“TMLC”), a national nonprofit public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, MI, has filed a federal lawsuit against State and County officials and employees seeking to stop a State-sponsored religious inquisition of parents who have religious objections to State vaccination requirements.

• The American Cancer Society has endorsed the U.S. government’s HPV vaccination recommendations, which include immunizing all preteens against the sexually transmitted human papilloma virus.

• People with diabetes who get the flu vaccine may be less likely to wind up hospitalized for cardiovascular or respiratory problems, a recent study suggests. “The potential impact of influenza vaccine to reduce serious illness and death highlight the importance to renew efforts to ensure that people with diabetes receive the flu vaccine every year,” said lead study author Dr. Eszter Vamos, a public health researcher at Imperial College London.

Some of the things you will hear Dr. Buttar and Robert talk about in this week’s show are:

• Cancer patients and their doctors often hold different opinions about the patient’s chances for survival and how long he or she might live, according to a new study. And, in many cases, patients are unaware there’s any misunderstanding.

• Lois Lunsk underwent surgery nine years ago to remove her thyroid and a number of lymph nodes. Following the operation, she was given a dose of radioactive iodine capsules and forced to spend three days in isolation in a room lined with lead, because her body was emitting such a high amount of radiation.  Her treatment was considered state-of-the-art at the time, but by today’s standards, it can only be described as overzealous.

• Vaccine industries have their sights set on a new market that they hope will someday be as massive as that created by the just-shy-of-obligatory childhood vaccine schedule: pregnant women.  The industry is working with the FDA to create new rules to test and develop vaccines designed to be given to pregnant women, in order to pass antibodies on to their unborn infants. The fact that this protection would only be short-term is not viewed as a problem.

• Unlike the U.S. where people who suffer from vaccine injuries and deaths cannot sue the drug manufacturers who enjoy legal immunity from the harm caused by their products, women in Japan have started taking legal action against the pharmaceutical companies that produce the HPV vaccine, which includes Merck’s Gardasil and Cervarix manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. The Japanese government has withdrawn their support of the vaccine, and hence they are named in the lawsuits as well.

• Fluoride is commonly found in tap water thanks to a process called fluoridation – which the U.S. government has been repeatedly telling us is a safe and effective way to protect teeth from decay, according to Global Research. But a recent study published in The Lancet, the world’s most renowned medical journal, has actually classified fluoride as a neurotoxin – something which has a negative impact on brain development – alongside other extremely toxic compounds such as arsenic, lead and mercury.

• Nine out of every 10 strokes has a modifiable risk factor, including hypertension, a new study suggests. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States, where about 800,000 Americans suffer a stroke each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

• For asthma patients, living near fracking sites is associated with more symptom flare-ups that require medication and hospital care, a U.S. study suggests.  Air pollution has long been known to worsen asthma. But less is known about the impact of fracking, which involves pumping water, sand and chemicals into the ground to free oil and gas reserves from rock formations.

• In a highly controversial, unprecedented motion, members of the Allegheny County Health Department in Pittsburgh, PA, have publicly revealed that they’re considering administering acountywide mandate to require all 7th grade girls and boys to receive the HPV vaccine before receiving admittance into school for the 2017–18 school year. Since the news broke last week, natural health advocates and anti-vaccine activists have been in an outrage, condemning the corporate Big Pharma-funded mandate.

• A group of California parents and the nonprofit Education 4 have all filed a federal lawsuit against the state of California, arguing that the state’s new mandatory vaccination law violates children’s right to education.

• Two sides of one coin will keep diabetes drug sales growing–big time–through 2025. The disease is growing fast around the world, and treatment arbiters advise a more aggressive approach to blood-sugar control. Combine those two drivers, and diabetes will account for almost $60 billion in 2025 sales across 9 major global markets, Global-Data analysts say in a recent report. That’s almost double the $31.2 billion in brand and generic sales recorded last year.

• Raleigh residents who had long touted the quality of their well water got a big surprise when it was revealed that their water was not quite as pure as they thought.  In 2012, low levels of four carcinogenic chemicals were discovered in several area wells. Two years later, state environmental officials determined that the contamination was probably caused by pesticides that had been sprayed there decades earlier in order to prevent termites, with agricultural operations spraying another possibility.

• Researchers at the University of Illinois say a host of commonly used chemicals, from lead and mercury to flame retardants and pesticides, need greater attention and regulation because of mounting evidence they are a threat to brain development. The study calls into question the method for government agencies evaluating scientific evidence about contamination of the environment, suggesting a new framework to assess the danger of the chemicals is needed.

• Dr. Buttar was stung by a bee!  What a perfect opportunity to have a medical conversation about bee and wasp venom and treatment – at our poor friend’s expense!

• Medical Kidnapping –we refer back to yesterday’s story from a listener out of Perth, Australia which shared a story about court-ordered chemo for kids against their parents wishes.  Who is in charge of our kids, the Church of Science, or us? What about the sovereignty of family – you should be sovereign over your own family, right?  How do we stand up for those rights?  What is the difference between Courage, and Bravery?  Mr. Bell and Dr. Buttar espouse upon the nuances between the two.

• Finally we discuss the lingering distrust of doctors by the black community.  Could this stem from the tragic Tuskegee study?  There is no question that the Tuskegee study is one of the most horrific examples of unethical research in recent history. For 40 years, ending in 1972, members of the United States Public Health Service followed African-American men infected with syphilis and didn’t treat them (although they told some men they did) so that they could see the disease take its course.

• Another example of mis-treatment to this community in the name of science, is of course is highlighted in the movie Vaxxed – in theaters now, check your listings to see when it will be near you!

• Something interesting about Dr. Buttar is that he claims to have a short attention span, (although anyone who makes it through medical school must be very focused, more likely he is just too smart for his own good, like many children diagnosed with ADD or ADHD – he just always needs a new challenge).

• In his own practice, many of his patients are children with autism.   What is brilliant about his treatment process is that he has been able to identify that it is almost always mercury poisoning, usually from vaccines, and he has the detoxing system, as they say, “down to a science”!  How beautiful to be able to give those families clear direction and hope on an incredibly tough journey.  However, now that he has his staff so well trained, and his office running like a well-oiled machine, he relies on his pal RSB to keep him on his toes.  As he says on the show today, “I keep coming back, because it’s just never boring!”

• Guess what?  RSB was right!  Lol, not for the first time. Cholesterol does not cause heart disease in the elderly and trying to reduce it with drugs like statins is a waste of time, an international group of experts has claimed.

• Modern medicine is pretty clear about the health benefits of exercising regularly, eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables, not smoking, and consuming alcohol in moderation. It is well-documented that engaging in all four of these healthy habits can significantly reduce your risk of death.  But a recent study has shed light on a much less-research question: if you are overweight or obese, does being healthy do as much good as it does for thinner people?Or are you doomed to never be as healthy as “normal” weight people?

• When it comes to antidepressants and many other drugs, double-blind drug trials are a complete fraud. Here’s why: “Double-blind” means that one group gets a placebo while another group gets the real drug, but neither group knows what they’re actually getting. This is supposed to sort out the placebo effects (which are real but discarded by scientists who don’t believe in “mind-body medicine”) from the “real” drug effects (which are considered legitimate because they are caused by chemicals) and provide proof that the drug in question works better than placebo.  There’s only one problem with all that: The patients realize they have the “real” drug when they start experiencing horrific side effects!

• Taking hormonal drugs for up to 15 years reduces the risk of breast cancers coming back, a landmark study suggests. The trial, involving 1,918 patients, which had top billing at the world’s largest cancer conference, showed the risk was cut by a third. Experts described it as a “big deal” that will change treatment for millions of women. But they warned there were risks, including osteoporosis.

• Three-quarters of young or middle-aged Americans with terminal cancer receive aggressive treatment during the last month of their lives, even though such care may provide nothing but misery, a new study estimates.

• Artificial sweetener aspartame is indeed a Schedule II narcotic, because the methanol in aspartame affects dopamine levels in the brain, which can lead to addiction. Methanol, or wood alcohol, is classified as a severe metabolic poison.

• When your tummy is little, it doesn’t take much! British researchers found that overweight infants and toddlers don’t eat more often than their normal-weight peers, but they do consume just a little bit more food at each meal. The overweight youngsters had about 141 calories at each meal. The normal-weight babies and toddlers had about 130 calories at each meal, the study found.”Although the difference in average meal size between the overweight and healthy-weight children seems small [11 calories, perhaps an extra spoonful of baked beans with a meal] children are eating on average five times per day so the difference over the course of a week is considerable,” study author Hayley Syrad, from University College London, and colleagues, wrote.  It would be helpful to understand if there was any difference in the quality or freshness of the food as well.
